With FBA, you send your products to Amazon’s fulfillment centers, and Amazon stores them for you.

If you sell products on Amazon in India (India), you have two main options for storing your products. Each works differently depending on your business size and convenience.

1️⃣ Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) – Store in Amazon Warehouses

With FBA, you send your products to Amazon’s fulfillment centers, and Amazon stores them for you.

How it works:

  1. You register as a seller on Amazon Seller Central.

  2. You ship your inventory to an Amazon Fulfillment Center.

  3. Amazon stores the products.

  4. When a customer orders:

    • Amazon packs

    • ships

    • handles returns

    • provides customer support

Advantages:

  • No need to manage your own warehouse.

  • Faster delivery (Prime eligible).

  • Amazon handles logistics.

Costs:

  • Storage fee (monthly)

  • Fulfillment fee (per order)

This is the most common option for new sellers.

2️⃣ Self-Fulfillment (Merchant Fulfilled / Easy Ship) – Store Yourself

You store products at your own location, such as:

  • Your home

  • Your shop

  • Your own warehouse

  • A third-party warehouse

When an order comes:

  • Easy Ship: Amazon picks up from you and delivers.

  • Self Ship: You pack and ship using courier partners.

Advantages:

  • No Amazon storage fees.

  • Full control of inventory.

Disadvantages:

  • You must manage packing, shipping, and returns.
